Kids in the Kitchen 101: Banana Milkshakes


Have you ever had a banana milkshake? The BB Boys love them and their friends think that they are the most delicious milkshake in the whole world! I remember my mom making these for me when I was a little girl and I was so excited when I found out that they are super easy to make!

Here is what you will need:
Tools:
A Blender
An Ice Cream Scoop
Measuring Cups
A Cup for Drinking

Ingredients:
Milk
Vanilla Ice Cream
Bananas

The best part about cooking is the tasting! A good cook
always tastes what they are making!! Just be sure to use a
fresh spoon each time you taste it so that you don't
spread your germs. 



Directions:
  1. Scoop half of a gallon of vanilla ice cream into the blender, then add two peeled bananas that are cut up slightly on top of the ice cream. You can use your fingers to pull the bananas apart. 
  2. Pour a 1/2 cup of milk over the ice cream and bananas. 
  3. Put the blender's jar on the base, put the lid on it, and with mom or dad there, set it onto the milkshake setting, then turn it on. Blend the milkshake for 30 seconds. If the milkshake is too thick, add more milk and blend again. 
This will make enough for 3-4 people.

Note: If you don't like bananas, you can easily change them out for another kind of fruit. Peaches or berries would be delicious! Yum!

  1. My kids love juices and shakes, but my older one hates the taste of bananas! I know - weird! I usually disguise it by adding berries.

  2. We love these. You can mix in any extra fruit and even veggies! I usually use ice instead of ice cream, I will have to try that. I bet it will be really yummy!

    1. Absolutely! I use ice cream every once in a while because my kids really need the extra calories. They are so active that it is hard to keep weight on them, but if your kids don't have that problem, then ice is a great solution or even just freezing your fruit and adding a smoothie mix for creaminess would be delicious. Oh you know, coconut milk would be delicious too if you like coconut. :o)
