31 Day Challenge - Day 3

What Makes Me Happy:

1. Looking at old pictures. I love to laugh, and my kids have always made sure that I laugh often!

2. Sitting outside while Wee One naps. I enjoy being still and allowing myself to notice the things that are happening around me. I listen to the leaves blow in the wind and to the squirrels as they chase each other from branch to branch. I enjoy watching the street sweeper man dance to his own music as he drives down my street. I love the peace and tranquility that I feel when I allow myself to take the time to notice the beauty that life has to offer.

3. Laying in bed with my hubby at the end of the day, and watching whatever sitcom series that we are currently trying to get through.

4. Watching my kids try new things, and when they finally understand the newest concept that they have been working on in school.

5. Going on our family road trips. Being in the car together, and sharing the excitement of seeing and exploring new things is the best thing in the world! I will never get tired of hearing my kids excited chatter about what they expect to find before we get there, and then their excited chatter about what we did once we leave. Those moments will forever be ingrained in my memory as the most cherished moments of my twenties.

6. Going to my monthly book club meetings. The ladies that I read with are some of the rowdiest ladies I know! Who needs alcohol when you have books and dessert?!?! ;o)

7. Talking on the phone with my two best girlfriends!

This list is just a sampling of the things that make me happy in my life. I could go on and on, however, I don't think my blog has enough space to hold it all! I feel so blessed to have as many wonderful people, opportunities, and things in my life that make me really happy. :o)

So, what makes you happy?!?! Leave me a comment and let me know! I would love to hear about it!!

  1. There's nothing quite like a good road trip, is there? Something about being on the open road with the people you love, it's so awesome!

  2. After all the boys go to school, I often spend time just soaking in the peace and enjoying the little things, especially the squirrels. So playful and free. <3

  4. What a sweet post! Looking at old pictures is one of my all time favorites. It reminds you of how little the babies really were and how much fun they are!

  5. I love it too, at the end of a long day snuggling with my love to watch a little TV after the kids go down for the night, it's what I look forward to all day long.

  6. I love this. I love looking at old pictures too. Another things that makes me happy is the end of the day right before my husband and I go to bed and our debate over what we will watch. It is just our end of the day thing.

  7. I came over from the March challenge. I read your "Oh Happy Day" post as well as this one, and you perfectly described my own feelings on my third baby. With the first two I was so busy and rushed with all that was happening in my life. I'm really looking forward to spending one on one time with my own sweet baby instead of being at work all day for her babyhood. :-)

    1. Being a stay-at-home mom takes some getting used to, because there are very few breaks and a lack of adult conversation, but the one thing that will always make you smile is the baby. Be sure to join a playgroup or something once the baby is old enough. It helps. :o)

  8. What makes me happy? Listening to me teens talk instead of argue, seeing said teens smile instead of snarl, a good martini, light bulb moments (mine or someone else's), pajama days, my husband and genuine laughter. You list sounds equally as wonderful. Found you through Raising Imperfection. Look forward to reading more.
